During our junior year trip to New Mexico I experienced a lot of new perspectives that I would have never gotten the opportunity to experience without AGS. My favorite part about the trip was when we visited the Acoma Pueblos. I loved seeing the well thought out architecture of the pueblos. During the Winter time they move their kitchen to the bottom so the warm air rises and heats the top floor where they sleep, and during the summer they move the kitchen to the top floor so the warm air rises up instead of down where they sleep at the bottom. Visiting the To'hajiilee reservation was also very special for me. I got to help a little boy write short story about a queen who was captured by a dragon and a king had to come rescue her. Riding to the top of Sandia Peak was both beautiful and exhilarating especially the view we got to see at the top. Tent Rock National Monument was also one of my favorite parts of the trip. The hike to the top was beautiful and long enough to get some good exercise in, with a spectacular view at the top. Overall New Mexico was a trip that was as beautiful as it was educational.
